All AI-generated output is reviewed and verified by a qualified solicitor before being relied upon or provided to a client.
3. What We Do Not Use AI For
We do not use AI to:
- Make final legal decisions or provide unsupervised legal advice to clients.
- Sign, certify, or file documents on behalf of clients without solicitor review.
- Replace client consultations or the exercise of professional judgment.
- Process sensitive client data through public or unvetted AI platforms without appropriate safeguards.
4. Confidentiality and Data Protection
We take your confidentiality seriously. Where AI tools are used in connection with your matter, we take steps to ensure that:
- Identifiable client information is not entered into public or consumer-facing AI platforms.
- Any AI tools used in practice are subject to appropriate data processing agreements and privacy safeguards.
- Client data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
5. Accuracy and Verification
AI tools can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading output — sometimes referred to as “hallucinations.” We are aware of these limitations. All AI-generated content used in connection with client matters is independently verified by a solicitor before being acted upon. We do not rely on AI output without human review.
6. Transparency
We believe clients have a right to know when AI tools have been used in a meaningful way in connection with their matter. If you have questions about whether or how AI has been used in your matter, please ask us directly. We will answer honestly and clearly.
7. Professional Responsibility
The use of AI does not diminish our professional responsibility to you. Our solicitors remain fully responsible for all advice given, documents prepared, and work performed on your behalf. We comply with the Legal Profession Uniform Law and the professional conduct rules applicable in New South Wales and Tasmania.
